Information Collection and Use
Pattern Resource Group, LLC’s licensed apps are created for free use and service to the end user. In the interest of both privacy and security of the user, the Service has done as much as possible to collect as little information as possible from your usage and devices.
With this page, we intend to be 100% transparent regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information for those choosing to use our Service.
If you choose to use our Service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. The Service will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.
1. On-device and Website Applications
General
- Our systems, and those of Amazon Web Services whom we use as our server and storage provider, do not request or store any personally identifiable information regarding the user’s device or internet address in the use the app. Upon downloading new resources for the app, our server retains only the name of the country from where the download was requested. To better provide new resources to the user, our service keeps a count of the number of times items are downloaded. To repeat, only the country, not the user, information is kept and associated with these items.
- If the user chooses to contact the Service for assistance with a request for a response, the user understands that the Service is not in control of the privacy and security of all messaging/communication services (i.e. email or social messaging platforms). Upon receiving the contact information, it is stored in a secure and responsible manner, used only for the purpose intended, and never shared or sold outside of the Service team. The information is deleted from all locations upon request.
- The app does use third party services that may collect information used to identify you. Most importantly, this relates to the app stores from which the application is downloaded. These companies may have user information associated with emails, device id numbers, and the specific internet location requesting to download the app.
Cookies
Cookies are the small files with unique, identifiable information that are used to track how users interact with the app and across the internet. They frequently track activity across apps on the device. If you have noticed how the internet always seems to know what you have been doing or looking at, then you have seen cookies in action. These cookies are sent to your browser from the websites that you visit and are stored on your device’s internal memory. This Service does not use these “cookies” in our on-device and website application.
Embedded or linked content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Security features
We are thankful for your trust in using our application. We use industry standard, and higher, means of protecting the little information we store, and all information you provide to us when you need assistance. All connections to the Service use industry standard HTTPS encrypted protocols. While we undergo regular cybersecurity reviews, there is no way for us to guarantee 100% security.
On-device storage
The Service provides both on-device installable applications and a web browser viewable version. The on-device app versions follow the recommended operating system security protocols with the data always encrypted while remaining on the device. The website version places information in the cache (web-browser memory) for faster access and less bandwidth usage. This information is likely more accessible to any person with access to your device. Releasing this memory involves managing the application data in the web browser advanced settings.
2. Pattern Content Creator
The privacy settings for the Content Creator are generally the same as the above on-device and website applications with the following exceptions.
Types of data stored
The system stores username and email for each registered user. Additionally, the system stores the IP address of failed login attempts. This is a security measure to track possible nefarious attempts to access the system. If the user does this in a legitimate error, this IP address is removed from the system following a successful login or password reset.
Login security
The system locks entry following three unsuccessful attempts at login for a period of time. During that period of time the only way to access any part of the system (including a password reset) is through the Pattern Administrator. After six failed attempts the system will permanently lock the user out until an administrator initiates the password reset.
How long we retain your data
For users that register on one of our websites (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (but they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
The system stores a user-name and password for authentication of the account.
3. Patternplatform.app & Client Portal
General
The website hosting this page and other client portal websites request and securely store usernames, passwords, emails, general geographic location information. Some items such as IP addresses are stored temporarily before being cleared daily. Recognizing that some users may have a need to be especially secure, we recommend routine clearing of the browser cache, using a VPN as a way of accessing the website.
